Tucson Community Rapid Response

Tucson Community Rapid Response is a group of individuals concerned about the increased harassment and attacks against our communities at the hands of immigration enforcement. The Rapid Response network provides a 24 hour hotline for folks to call and report any ICE activity, which is answered by bilingual volunteers who send a dispatch alert to the “community observers” network. Observers are vetted and trained to respond to these alerts and will go to the scene to document ICE or other immigration law enforcement activity through observation, photos, videos, and conversations with impacted people. We believe in the importance of community presence to hold law enforcement accountable and aim to mobilize the greater Tucson community. The goals of Rapid Response are to serve as witnesses to immigration enforcement actions, to uphold the rights of immigrants, and to provide direct support and connection to resources to any affected Tucsonans. Donations provided to Tucson RapidResponse will be used to cover the annual costs of the hotline, printing fees for wallet sized Rapid Response hotline cards, outreach materials, and compensation for interpreters to support language justice during all trainings and meetings.
