Brinley Carillo
brinley@borderlinks.org
Brinley was born and raised in Arizona. Her father was the first person in his family to come to the United States at a young age. Brinley was part of the first generation in her family to be born in the United States, and has spent her life living in the duality of being Chicana. Experiencing the separation of her family at a very young age jolted her into the reality of what it meant to be the daughter of an immigrant. Growing up in a white-dominant rural area of the state, Brinley pushed herself to learn and to share her experience with separation by borders, and is excited to be continuing that work at BorderLinks.
