Home Education Delegations Delegation Cost

Delegation Cost

$125 Per Day
2009 All-Inclusive Program Fee

Delegation Fee

Multiple-day BorderLinks trips traveling in 2009 cost $125 per person per day. This fee includes food, lodging, programming, and transportation once the participant has reached the trip's beginning location (usually Tucson). Participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from the beginning location. BorderLinks bills in 24-hour increments, beginning when the group arrives in Tucson. Multi-day delegations booked for 2010 will be contracted at $130/person/day. One-day delegations will remain at our current rate of $100/person/day.  Special delegations (BorderLinks II) and delegations requiring extra programmatic accommodation may be contracted at a higher rate.  When you schedule or join a delegation, the Education Coordinator will discuss trip length and pricing with you.

Group Sizes

We organize group travel primarily in 15-passenger vans. For this reason, we ask for group sizes of 10-13 for 1 van, 19-27 for 2 vans, or 33-41 for 3 vans. BorderLinks may have to restrict your group to the 10-13 range during busy times of year.  Please discuss these details with the Education Coordinator.

Payment Schedule

A non-refundable deposit of $250 for a one-day trip and $500 for multi-day trips is required to hold your group’s place on our calendar. This fee is applied toward the total trip fee. The calendar fee deposit is due upon receipt of the initial invoice, which will be sent to you after your dates are secured with the Education Coordinator.

You will be invoiced for the trip balance eight (8) weeks before your trip begins.  The balance is due four (4) weeks before your arrival.

Medical Insurance

BorderLinks requires that all trip participants have medical insurance that will cover the participant during the entire delegation, both in the U.S. and in Mexico. If your own insurance provider does not cover you in Mexico, we suggest that you purchase short-term international insurance with a travel agent or other agency. In either case, you must submit proof to us in writing by the start of the seminar that your own medical insurance will cover you internationally.

BorderLinks will not assume any liability for health care costs.

Raising the Money for Your Delegation

Many groups raise the money for their BorderLinks delegation in their own communities. We believe that the process of organizing and raising funds for trips actually enhances the group's experience by investing them in the trip and bringing them closer together in the process.
