Beyond the Border: Santa Barbara

Join BorderLinks and community organizations in Santa Barbara for another Beyond the Border delegation!  With fellow community members, learn about how federal immigration initiatives are affecting immigrant communities in Southern California.

Co-sponsored by BorderLinks and PUEBLO, this delegation is a one day immersion program which invites community members to explore the immigrant experience in Santa Barbara, California.  Included in the day's activities will be discussion of:

- Secure Communities legislation
- the DREAM Act
- car impoundments
- challenges facing immigrant youth
- practices of detention and deportation
