Delegations

Since 1987, BorderLinks has been facilitating delegations in the Arizona-Sonora region and beyond the border to Chiapas, the Copper Canyon, Alamos, Chicago, and Santa Barbara.

These immersion visits offer groups the opportunity to interact with our neighbors in the U.S. and Mexico.  Our delegations visit with individuals and organizations that provide basic assistance to migrants, create community-based alternatives, advocate for just policies, and much more.

You will meet with people that are directly affected by current economic and immigration policies, and you’ll be given tools and resources to work for justice.

Traditional Border DelegationsTraditional Border Delegations are short immersion trips along the border ranging in length from 1 day to 3 weeks. These programs are designed for self-organized groups, such as students of a particular school/university or members of a church.  Each year, around 70 groups participate in a traditional delegation.

Beyond the Border Delegations:  BorderLinks' Beyond the Border Programs are specially designed to offer unique opportunities for both returning participants who have previously engaged in a BorderLinks program and for first time participants looking for an alternative to the regular BorderLinks delegation experience. Beyond the Border travels to Chiapas, the Copper Canyon, and Alamos, in Mexico, and to cities across the United States. Individuals or small groups are encouraged to join these programs.
