Trip Fee

BorderLinks trips cost $120 per person per day. This includes food, lodging, programming, and transportation once the participant has reached the trip's starting location (usually Tucson). The participant is responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from the beginning location.

Payment Schedule

A non-refundable application fee of $25 for a one-day trip and $50 for multiple day trips is required with your trip application in order to hold your place. This fee is applied toward the total trip fee. Please return the application and application fee as soon as possible -- at least 8 weeks prior to your scheduled trip date.

In order to continue holding your place, one half of the total trip fee must be received six (6) weeks before your trip begins. The balance is due three (3) weeks before arrival.

Medical Insurance

BorderLinks requires all trip participants to have medical insurance that will cover the participant during the BorderLinks seminar. First, check with your own insurance provider to be sure that their coverage is extended beyond the border of the US. If not, you may check with your own travel agent (or the agent who does BorderLinks travel) to see what is offered there. Finally, you may call a company called STM which offers low cost, short term health coverage. You may reach them at 800-422-4350 and ask for Lisa. In any case, you must submit proof to us in writing by the start of the seminar that your own medical insurance will cover you internationally.

BorderLinks will not assume any liability for health care costs.

Refund Policy

If you cancel your reservation between 10 to 45 days before the start of the trip, BorderLinks will keep 25% of the total trip fee (or $50, whichever is greater) and refund the remainder of your deposit.

If you cancel within 9 or fewer days before the start of the trip, BorderLinks will keep 50% of the total trip fee (or $50, whichever is greater) and refund the remainder.

If you must cancel your reservation due to sudden illness or family emergency, BorderLinks will apply your deposit toward a future trip.

Raising the money for your trip

Many groups, especially youth, raise the money for their trips in their own communities. We believe that the process of organizing and raising funds for trips actually enhances the group's experience by investing them in the trip and bringing them closer together in the process.

If your group needs ideas for fundraising, please feel free to contact our fund-raiser Linda Cruz (lacruz@borderlinks.org or call 520-628-8263).
