Donations of cars, computers, office equipment...

Thanks to a friend at a local company in Phoenix, BorderLinks received eight used computers for our office in Tucson. Microsoft has donated ten licenses for their OfficeXP software and we have now sent the ten pentium conmputers, donated two years ago by Iona College, to the Casa in Nogales to begin the computer lab and computer cafe there. Residents of the colonia Bella Vista will soon have access to the internet. Others have offered individual computers as they have up-graded. These are most helpful if they are newer pentiums.

Also, we received the donations of a 1984 Volkswagon Fox and a 1992 Escort Station Wagon this winter. We are reminded of how much we depend on these donated vehicles. We drive these cars until they are no longer servicable for our staff to drive to Mexico. Then we are able to sell them for local use in Tucson. In this way they are a double benefit for our program. If you have a car that that could be donated, please call the BorderLinks' office at 520-628-8263.

Many congregations are willing to place a 'wanted' notice in bulletins or newsletters for these kinds of donations and use the donation as an opportunity to have a BorderLinks' staff person come for a program as well as to pick up the donation to drive it back to Tucson.

We welcome all donations. Besides cars and computers, we welcome office equipment like fax machines and even supplies like paper and pens. Call us to make arrangement for a donation.

We depend on you.
